Weinberg to Offer Backstage Tours to Public on a More Frequent Basis
FREDERICK, Md., Tuesday, June 20, 2017 — In response to increased demand, the Weinberg Center for the Arts will offer free backstage tours to the general public on a more frequent basis beginning July 8. Patrons will experience the backstage magic for themselves, gaining access to areas normally off-limits to the public. Built in 1926 as a silent movie palace, the landmark theater reflects the evolution of both the film industry and Frederick County.
Throughout the summer, tours will be offered weekly, alternating between Saturdays at 11am and Tuesdays at 2pm. No reservations are required; patrons may arrive at the Weinberg Center Box Office at the scheduled time. Exact dates and times are as follows:
Tours are approximately 45-60 minutes and are free of charge. While the standard tour route includes climbing to the mezzanine level and projection booth, accessible/shortened versions of the tour can be given upon request.
