Fermenting for Youth - Fruit and Herbal Sodas and Vegetables

Fermenting isn't just for adults, youth can start to learn how to create delicious, probiotic rich foods and beverages too! We'll craft a lemon-lime ginger soda, grape soda and learn how to ferment carrots and other vegetables to give them flabor and added nutritional benefits. Tasting and take-homes are included.


Fermented Beverages - Ginger Bug, Lavender Lemonade, Kombucha and Water Kefir

Kombucha has become a sensation over the past few years but for many it is still a mystery. We'll delve into the world of the SCOBYs that make these beverages and talk about cultures you can create right at home to have bubbly, probiotic rich sodas and beverages at a fraction of the cost. Tasting and take homes are included.


Fermentation as Preservation - Vegetables (Krauts, Brined Vegetables, Salsas and Sauces)

When the harvest is coming in strong - how can we keep it a little bit longer? Fermentation can offer us a solution! Brined vegetables are probiotic rich and delicious. We'll experiment with different ways of preserving vegetables and fruits. Tasting and take homes are included.
